| Want to extend a belated shout out to Tanya/OCLES,INC who pulled a seat-back panel off her own e23 to sell me. Had been looking worldwide for a beige replacement panel for 18 months with zero success. She had it in my hands in about 3 days. Outstanding! Who does that?

BMW E32 7-Series 750iL Rear Differentials: VariationsLast Updated: 09/08/2018 | | Parts Group: Differential | This article discusses the variations of rear differentials on the E32 750iL.
A customer expressed interest in a rear differential for a BMW E32 750iL. He wants a limited-slip-style unit with the 3.15 ratio.
I looked into it some more, and concluded that in July of 1990, BMW changed the ratio from 3.15 (with more emphasis on speed) to 3.64 (with more emphasis on acceleration).
BMW rear differentials tend to have a little type-identifying plate attached to them. On my personal 1988 BMW 750iL, that I’ve owned for close to 20 years, the plate reads "S 3.15" which means it’s the early-style unit, as one would expect -- and it has the limited-slip feature.
Here's a summary of the part numbers differential units specific to the E32 750iL:
All of the part numbers have a prefix of "3310." I don't whether or not the earlier and later units are interchangeable but my guess would be that indeed, they are.
